Freedom was introduced by Cornell University in Geneva, NY in 1983. The name refers to it's 'Freedom' from disease - including of course scab as well as fire blight and mildew. Similar to the old 'Wealthy' apple, 'Freedom' is a juicy, large red apple with aromatic old fashioned goodness - just right for apple sauce, juice or fresh eating. Will keep for 2-3 months. A dependable choice that teams well with 'Liberty'.
